It died

Two baby mynahs fell out of their nest in our garden in Penang. My parents kept the cat away, and one flew off. They were feeding it with mashed banana and we were all hoping it would grow up and learn to fly. It didn't.

I enjoy myself, but has anyone seen my passion?

I don't take things too hard, but perhaps that comes at the expense of taking them too lightly.

I need more breadth and less depth. No, the other way around.

I'm still not sure I know who I am.

On the mynahs... I had the same experience with an abandoned kitten in the back drain, about a decade ago.

On the other thoughts:

1. Who says it's necessary?

2. I've been the opposite all my life, and I'm only now embracing the process of disengagement. It's a little disconcerting, but extremely practical.

3. I need to take a breath once in a while.

4. That's what makes us interesting.
