So farney!

Conversation about me going home:

A: buon viaggio!
A: bon voyeur!

Me: voyeur...

A: oh wait
A: what's the correct one?

Me: I assume you know what that means
Me: voyage

A: shit!

Me: LOL!

A: it's coz i purposely change it to bon voyeur all the time, and now I've forgotten the real one

Me: that has to be the freudian slip of the year

I choose not to name names. It was too hilarious not to share though. A stands for Alice, the default 'person A' of modern physics. 'Me' would usually be Bob.

No, I don't spy on women in the library, on the plane, or anywhere else, for that matter. Discreet glances are more my style.

For a brief moment there, I considered typing 'discrete'. Quantization of ocular velocity? I've just been reading stuff about quantum mechanics online. I think my interests in Williams Physics research is sliding from Prof. Tucker-Smith to Prof. Wootters.

I noticed two things while typing this. Firstly, Writing Workshop has made me hyper-aware of sentence construction, paragraph construction and other structurally-related issues of writing, which made me reorganize the first actual quasi-paragraph of this post. I'm not alone in having been so affected, according to Mimi (this statement is independent of chronology). Heck FYI, I reorganized the last sentence midway too. It's possible that I'd have done so regardless but now I'm conscious of these things. It's sorta weird, but at the same time good, because now the whole writing thing is less intuitive, and more logical. Thinking about it though, I liked the intuitive writing process... even if this is probably more effective. I think my violin playing is developing along similar lines. I think a lot more about the playing when I'm playing now, and less (although still, a little) about external or internal distractions. Odd how that seems to suggest at least two levels of thought processes that can have different amplitudes within my consciousness. Kinda cool. Should test at home whether I can still sustain the level of playing while reading something unrelated as I used to do occasionally while practicing stuff from memory. And the second thing (yes, the digression really got going there) was that this whole blog post gets weirder and possibly harder to understand for the bulk of people as it goes, although it possibly turns around a bit after "Wootters".

Oh well. I'll just assign it to you people as an analysis assignment. Report back within a week on my mental state, which has little to do with New Jersey.

Note: Alice has chosen to reveal her identity. Alice is Wan Phing. I found it interesting that I alluded to her elsewhere in the post, but in an issue unrelated to the conversation.
