:D I AM FEELING GOOD! It's an intellectual sort of hyperness, due to intellectual stimulation. Partly also due to sugar. Had a nice violin lesson today (again) - Bach is coming along quite nicely, even if I'm still only playing 3 phrases each time. Read some Feynman for tomorrow. Ate dinner. Sound boring? Well, it was all right. The cool bit comes later. Anyway I got on to partial differentiation homework for Math, which came along very well indeed. AND THEN...
Naturally I have to keep you in suspense. Some of you have seen my most recent MSN nick, so it'll be less of a surprise, but this is fun anyway. Haha, mean aren't I? Well, that's just the beauty and power of writing. So what if I have no control over who reads my blog? I have some partial control over how you read it. Note partial. If you've read right up to here you'll either be a systematic, responsible reader, or possibly humouring me, and a small percentage of you will not have realiszed that this paragraph is entirely irrelevant drivel. Fun though! :D It's boring just writing about how my day went all the time. I have to have some fun!
... WE PLAYED A SCHUBERT QUINTET! The MMW quintet has finally come together! We rock! :D Well, to be honest we weren't really communicating too well just yet, and we were sight-reading, and there were counting issues here and there but the important thing is that we played, we enjoyed playing and WE WANNA DO IT AGAIN! I think Eric and I are the most enthusiastic but we all really loved playing just now. The setup is from top to bottom (well, clockwise from 1st violin to 2nd cello) Caroline, me, Rachel, Zach, Eric. I think it works pretty well. Caroline and I will swap around a bit, and Rachel wants to do violin stuff too so we gotta look for some other music but it's nice right now, and the Schubert is a really nice piece! We're even talking about actually buying the music. Rachel's offered to have her mom pick it up for us - that way we can write all over. It's either that or photocopy. We're (Eric and I anyway) talking about playing in the Morgan common room - analogous to the studio recitals they have in the Music Dept. Eric and I are also gonna try out the Faure violin sonata -1st mvt- on Saturday. That should be good. Hopefully I get to perform that at the end of the semester. My teacher wants me to play the Bruch as well.
The sugar was from the waffle - today was a sort of fund-raising thing to help with Katrina. They made Jambalaya for dinner (a seafood & veg stew sorta thing), which is apparently cheaper, so some money goes to help the Katrina victims. After quintet, Rachel, Zach and I went to the snack bar, and tonight they served waffles instead of the usual stuff for $3. I had one with whipped cream, blueberries, pineapple and raspberries. The pineapple was no good but the rest was, and it was darned sweet. With the sugar from the hot chocolate, it's a marvel that I'm actually sleepy now.
Fencing tomorrow! YAY!
