First!

Halvorsen went really well in the audition. Thank goodness for my lesson on Thursday - it made the piece fly :D Definitely glad I did it after the Mozart - kind of redeemed myself after the slightly unconvincing beginning. Sight-reading went pretty well too. I've been asked to return to Student Symphony... Still thinking on that one but I'm more inclined towards it than I was before. Chamber music questions will be decided next week. And now I get to meet a bunch of new stand partners in BSO since I'm playing first (oh the sweetness! :) Only I think they rotate the players a bit so I may have some partners from last year... well that will be figured out over the course of the year.

Also, my sleeping deckchair cat has company - Jodi Psoter, the Science Research Librarian. I have a Librarian Trading Card now! XD She's in a pirate costume, complete with parrot. Picture will come up after camera battery recharges, along with Physics social photos. Can you say "Liquid nitrogen ice-cream"? How about liquid nitrogen grenades and Diet Cola/Mentos rockets? Heheheheh. I know you can say them. Try imagining them. Then compare your results with what I show you in a couple of days.

Another fun thing that had TX and me laughing this morning - Penang Hokkien Podcast. Discussion topic: Pai Ang Kong, which Ang Kong and why. Highly recommended for Hokkien speakers away from home. I'll be asking Taiwanese friends to listen and attempt to comprehend. Also subscribing now to the musiccanteen Top 10 podcast - I'm finally supporting Msian music (and I don't mean pirates).

Back to my life a.k.a. Physics.
