The latest

Well. I was quite psyched about blogging last night, but I ended up losing the spirit. Very unfortunate. I'm not sure what my motivation was anymore. Never mind though.

Have been PRODUCTIVE. Writing simple statistics programs and messing with some incomplete ones written by Prof. Aalberts. Managed to get stuff that makes sense out of them after having first begun my 'study' of computer language about a month ago. I'm proud. Have also spent time boning up on quite a lot of RNA-related stuff. Jodi (research librarian) made me happy by saying I was fairly successful talking about the work we're attempting - apparently a lot of the research students have initial difficulties with that, and she considers Prof. Aalberts' stuff hard to discuss (she knows about it though, so that made it easier on me. :) Pulled out a fair bit of literature related to the molecular beacon/microarray stuff (don't worry. I didn't know any of that stuff two weeks ago) which is good and bad. Good because it means the community is thinking the same thoughts (Prof. Aalberts liked to tell us to think "Deep thoughts! Any deep thoughts?"). On the downside, we can't so much say we're pioneering the stuff. Pity he didn't work on it 5 or 6 years ago when he first had the ideas. Apparently, the research will now take more finesse, something I consider always good. Hopefully we'll end up getting hold of some data to try to analyze and explain.

In other news, I think my Halo playing has actually improved after Tuesday. Our Ninja Turtles team is unfortunately somewhere lower in the standings for now, but it's all right. We'll do better. Highlights of the evening include "YES! I just assassinated JFK!" (One team was American Presidents). Watch this space for the results of tomorrow night's broomball game against Mo' East - the final fight of MMW vs the rest of Morgan.

Also, hi to BRO in ADELAIDE! Nice to hear the flight was good. Sad about the mushrooms though. Did they think they were magic?
